On November 19th, the Explosion had a rematch with the only team to beat them the entire season, the Upper Moreland Highlighters, for a winner-take-all, no holds-barred grudge match. Both teams played tough and battled fiercely, and despite an AWESOME sliding goal by Erin Hooper, the Explosion were edged out by the Highlighters and lost only their 2nd game of the season. The Palisades Explosion finished a very close second in their division for the season with an impressive 7-2-1 record, the same record and points as the division winners! The Explosion had 23 goals for and only 11 goals against this season, with 8 different girls scoring a goal, and 6 different girls taking a turn in goal, that’s AWESOME teamwork!! A big thanks to Kylie, Emily, Lauren, Erin, Skye, Kennedy, Micaela, Katelyn, Ena, Livi, Renee, Trysta, Katey, and Lexis and their dedicated parents! What a great season that saw much growth and improvement, coming up….indoor! |

The Palisades Explosion had two games again the weekend of November 12-13. On Saturday, they traveled to New Britain to play PRH Swoosh in their last away game of the season. Excellent teamwork lead to a 2-0 win over the opponents. Emily Nicholas and Erin Hooper each found the back of the net. On Sunday, HVAA Fury came to Palisades for an exciting, well played game. This game was expected to be a tough one and the defense turned up the heat, hardly letting the ball cross the center line, leaving keepers Erin Hooper and Katelyn Richter rather bored! Awesome job defense!! The Explosion came away with a 3-0 win with Emily Nicholas, Micaela Cavallaro, and Kennedy Smith each scoring a goal. |

The Palisades Explosion collected 2 more in the win column this weekend in a pair of games against the Horsham Independence. Saturday’s home game was played hard and ended with a score of 4-1 with Livi Marton scoring 2 goals, Emily Nicholas scoring 1, and Kylie Schmidt scoring 1 as well. A special thanks goes out to Ryan Spencer and Steve Badman for stepping in to ref this game when our ref didn’t show.
On Sunday the Explosion traveled to Horsham to battle them once again. This time the Explosion were down 4 players and had just 2 subs. This did nothing to dampen spirits, the team was focused and played hard, sometimes playing positions they had never played before to give their teammates a rest. The Explosion fought to a 2-0 win with Emily Nicholas scoring both goals. This is a team effort each and every game, a relentless offense and a tough defense make the Explosion a force to be reckoned with. Keep up the hard work Kylie, Emily, Lauren, Erin, Skye, Kennedy, Micaela, Katelyn, Ena, Livi, Renee, Trysta, Katey, and Lexis, we are almost there and still sitting on top!
The Explosion has another full weekend of games coming up. Away at PRH Swoosh on Saturday and Home against 2nd place HVAA Fury on Sunday at 1pm. Come on out and cheer the Explosion on! |

On Saturday October 22nd, Palisades Explosion headed to Quakertown to face the divisional first place team, the Quakertown Strikers. The Explosion came away with a 3-1 win that moved them into first place in their division! Emily Nicholas earned her second hat trick of the regular season. Erin Hooper in goal and a fantastic defense kept the ball out of the Explosion's half of the field for much of the game. Great job to the whole team, its teamwork that makes these wins possible! The Explosion plays Horsham twice this upcoming weekend, keep it up Explosion, let's stay on top! |

On Saturday Oct 15th, Palisades Explosion continued their winning streak to beat Huntington Valley 1-0! The first half was a hard fought battle between the 2 teams. Early in the second half, Emily Nicholas aimed a well-timed ball to the back of the net for the game’s only goal. The battle continued on and ended with a heart-stopping save by master stopper, Ena Altier, just inches away from the goal seconds before the final whistle. Well played Explosion! Let the winning streak continue as they play first place Quakertown next Saturday! |

The U10 boys get their first win Sunday vs. FC Pocono in the LVYSL league. The U10 boys traveled the long distance to Tannersville, PA to play the U10 FC Pocono squad. The game was very exciting right up until the end. In the first half Alex Creighton scored the first goal of the game. The boys were playing well but unfortunately ended up with a 3 to 1 deficit going into half time. I don’t know what the coaches said at halftime but the boys came out determined to come back in this game. The ball was kept on our side of the field most of the second half and 2 more goals were scored by Mason Brown. The scored was now tied. Great efforts by our defenders in keeping the ball out of our goal. With minutes left in the game Alex was able to put the ball in the net to win the game. Both our goalkeepers Zach Shoemaker and Mason Roth did a great job. What a thrilling game to watch. The boys were extremely excited with their efforts and the coaches and parents were pretty proud of them too. Other team members that must be mentioned include Ashton Foster, Ben Pentecost, Colby Pentecost, Zach Duke, Luke Balliet, Daulton Campbell, Erich Gerstlauer, and Caleb Johnson. Great win boys!! Just shows your hard work and determination not to give up when you’re down pays off.
The team travels to Northwestern next Saturday and Nazareth on Sunday. With all the schedule changes due to the rainouts we have a lot of games to catch up on. Let’s hope for a great weekend of soccer ahead. |

The Palisades Explosion traveled to Stroudsburg to participate in their very first tournament this past weekend and brought home the GOLD! The Explosion applied relentless pressure game after game to outscore their opponents 19-1 for the tournament with 7 different girls scoring throughout!
Game 1 vs Catasauqua: 3-0

Final vs Catasauqua: 1-0
Lauren Nolen scored the lone goal for the Explosion in the final game for the Championship! Trysta Lawson played Keeper during the entire championship game and rocked it! She stopped everything Catty sent her way!
The Explosion could not have won any of these games without the stopping power, teamwork, and impressive passing of the ENTIRE team which also includes: master stopper Ena Altier, Lexis Deppe, Renee Gerstlauer, Katelyn Shoemaker, and Skye Porter.
Well Done, Explosion! |
